Thunder x Pacers – Test to find out which player you areFind out who you are now: Shai Gilgeous-Alexander or Tyrese Haliburton. ⬇️
🏀 Which player are you in the NBA Finals: Shai Gilgeous-Alexander or Tyrese Haliburton? 🏆
The 2025 NBA Finals promise to be some of the most exciting in recent years. On one hand, the Oklahoma City Thunder, with its young and explosive roster.
On the other hand, the Indiana Pacers, with a refined and strategic team game. They are two franchises with different histories, but they have clearly earned their way to the top of the league.
As a basketball fan and enthusiast, I've followed every step of this journey and I can say: this series will be historic.
Oklahoma City Thunder – Youth and intensity
The Thunder have earned their place with a formula that combines young talent, high energy, and a smart tactical system.
The core of the team revolves around point guard Shai Gilgeous-Alexander (SGA), who has been the star of the season.
Coach Mark Daigneault has built a team that runs a lot, defends like no other, and attacks with creativity. Along with SGA, center Chet Holmgren commands respect in the paint and also contributes to the offense with his unusual mobility for someone of his size.
I know an exchange student friend who lives in Oklahoma and has been a fan since the Durant era. He told me he'd never seen the team as complete and competitive as it is now.
And indeed, the Thunder look like a team that has far surpassed its age: exceptionally mature.
Meet the team's stars
Shai Gilgeous-Alexander
Shai Gilgeous-Alexander, born in Canada on July 12, 1998, has become one of the best point guards in the NBA.
Drafted by the Charlotte Hornets in 2018, he was immediately traded to the Clippers and subsequently joined the Thunder in 2019. Since then, his growth has been steady.
What impresses me most is his composure. SGA has a rhythmic game, he can change pace like few others, and he masters the pick-and-roll.
His mid-range shot is a powerful weapon, and his infiltration ability is very reminiscent of the style of old-fashioned point guards, with a modern twist.
Off the court, he is known for his low-key style and dedication to the game.
Chet Holmgren
Meanwhile, young Chet Holmgren, drafted in 2022, is a physical phenomenon. Despite his slight build, he has an incredible defensive presence.
His blocks are notable, and his mobility to defend forwards and point guards is uncommon for players of his height.
He still has potential to grow offensively, but he already contributes a lot with three-pointers and cuts to the basket.
Indiana Pacers – Team Spirit and Tactical Intelligence
The Pacers enter the Finals as the most balanced team in the league. Their strength lies in their team spirit, but their brain is the brilliant Tyrese Haliburton.
The team plays with fluidity, constant movement, and intelligence. In addition to Haliburton, center Myles Turner provides security on defense and consistency on offense, serving as a key player in the pick-and-pop and transition game.
And from the bench, Benedict Mathurin brings energy with his precise shots.
I often talk to a cousin who lives in Indiana, and he always comments that the current team reminds us of the golden age of Reggie Miller.
"But now with a more modern style and a point guard who seems to have X-ray vision," he says of Haliburton.
Meet the team's stars
Tyrese Haliburton
Tyrese Haliburton, born on February 29, 2000, in Oshkosh, Wisconsin, was selected in the 2020 draft by the Sacramento Kings, but his big moment exploded after being traded to the Indiana Pacers.
What stands out most about his game is his ability to read the game. Haliburton sees what no one else sees. His passes are precise, quick, and creative.
He has also developed a very reliable three-point shot, even with unconventional mechanics.
He plays with joy, something that infects the team. Off the court, Tyrese is known for his charisma and sense of humor, and he's a true leader in the locker room.
Myles Turner
Myles Turner is the team's defensive pillar. With years of experience in the league, he leads the defense with blocks and positioning.
He also contributes with his shots from outside the paint, being one of the best centers in the NBA today.
