Apps to watch the NBA

I never imagined one day I'd be watching a game using NBA streaming apps. Check out Apps to Watch the NBA.

I've always been more of a soccer fan, like almost all Brazilians. But life has its surprises, and the NBA was one of those that arrived without asking permission.

It all started one night, after the kids were in bed. I grabbed my phone, opened YouTube to watch something light… and found a live NBA game.

It was a duel between LeBron James and Steph Curry. And look, that hooked me. The energy of the game, the commentary, the fans… it felt like a World Cup final.

The next day I downloaded the appropriate apps and have been following everything on my phone ever since.

If you're just getting started in this universe (or if you already enjoy it and want new ways to watch it), I'll tell you which are the best apps to watch the NBA live, tested and approved by me:

Apps to watch the NBA

ESPN

This is my official app. When I want quality, a clean picture, clear sound, and no interruptions, this is where I go.

The ESPN app is perfect for those who enjoy following all the details: stats, replays, professional commentary, and commentary that truly understands the game.

In addition to NBA games, the app streams other sports, so you can stay up to date.

The good thing is that it automatically adjusts the quality, so even with a fluctuating internet connection, it rarely crashes. For me, it's the darling of the morning.

Youtube

If you're someone who enjoys a more casual atmosphere, like I do from time to time, YouTube has several live streams of NBA games on specialized channels.

And the best part: it's completely free.

I like it because it has that community vibe: the live chat, the memes, the funny comments… it's a completely different experience.

The quality isn't always perfect, but it makes up for it with the collective excitement. I've even seen people streaming from Spain with Portuguese narration. It's pretty great.

Official NBA App

If you want to follow EVERYTHING about the league—not just the games, but also stats, behind-the-scenes videos, interviews, and historic plays—the NBA App is the most comprehensive.

It's the league's official app, and despite having some paid features (like NBA League Pass), it's worth it.

If you're willing to pay a little, you can watch every match live, without restrictions. But even the free version offers plenty: highlights, news, match schedules, and updated standings.

I use it a lot to watch highlights and see how the previous round went.

Star+ (Disney)

This is kind of a combination, you know? ESPN is also part of Star+, so if you already have a subscription, you'll be able to watch the games there as well.

It works well on mobile phones, tablets, TVs… You can follow everything in real time with great quality.

Sometimes I use it when I want to watch it on the couch more peacefully, or leave it on the TV while I do other things.

My routine with the NBA

Nowadays, watching the NBA has become almost a ritual for me. I plan to watch Lakers games, but I confess I end up watching more than that.

There are so many great stories happening at once: newcomers trying to make it big, veterans proving they've still got what it takes, intense rivalries… and it all fits in the palm of my hand.

With these apps, it's easy to enjoy the NBA anywhere: in traffic (with carpooling, of course), waiting in line at the bank, or lying in a hammock with a cup of coffee in the evening.

If you haven't followed it yet, give it a try. Download one of these apps and watch just one game. I doubt you won't get hooked.

Because at its core, the NBA is much more than basketball. It's art, emotion, and living history written on the court, and now accessible anytime, directly from your cell phone.

If you'd like, I can send you the official app links or help you set them up on your device. Just give me a call! 🏀📱
